Feel Good Beauty Tips II

This week, I featured a list of beauty tricks to boost confidence in a matter of minutes. Today, I'm adding more to that list so you can feel at your best more often!

Moisturize
When you feel great in your own skin, you automatically radiate confidence thats noticeable everywhere you go. If your skin lacks moisture and is dry and dull, try making this your daily routine by applying your favorite lotion the minute you step out of the shower (when your pores are open and will absorb more moisture). In a matter of days you'll notice a big difference and the glow of healthy skin is a sure sign of confidence! Try Vaseline Sheer Infusion with Stratys 3, $8, and check out how it works:

Try a New Polish
Switching up your routine can be scary sometimes, but it can also lead to discovering new beauty products to fall in love with. If you don't want to do something too drastic like changing your hair color, try a new shade of nail polish! Try an awesome metallic or a bold hue and you'll be surprised at how a small change will make you fearless.

Get a Spray Tan
The safer alternative to bed-tanning, a spray tan is my ultimate confidence tool. Not only will it give you a sunkissed glow but you'll feel as happy as you did on your last island vacation, and the compliments aren't a bad confidence booster either! Most tanning salons now have a spray tanning machine or a personal technician. To find one near you, visit www.tanningnearyou.com. To do it yourself, check out Kandee Johnson's tutorial below:

Make Your Eyes Pop
There's nothing more confident than a beautiful gaze. There are tons of make-up products out there personalized to intensify your eye color. Almay makes a great line of cosmetics for hazel, blue, brown and green eyes. Also, try Covergirl ExactEyelights Brightening Mascara, $7.

Feel Good Beauty Tips

Confidence is without a doubt a girl's best beauty tool. For those days when you might not feel your best and need a quick pick-me-up, here are a few of my favorite beauty tricks that are sure to give you that instant confidence boost!

Rock a Red Lip
There's nothing that screams confidence more than a bold lip color. Make sure to use a matching lipliner to get that flawless look. I love Elf Lipstick in Cheerful Cherry, $5.

Brighten Your Smile

A beautiful smile can really get you noticed and make you want to show your pearly whites any chance you get. Unfortunately, some whitening kits out there can set you back some hefty bucks. To get a bright, white smile for a fraction of the cost, check out Kandee Johnson's tutorial below:

Take a Warm Bubble Bath

Whenever I feel rundown, there's nothing like a soothing bath to de-stress and lift my spirits right up! Just set aside time once a week to relax, light some candles, play your favorite tunes (check out our article on feel good music) and recharge those batteries. This will help you feel refreshed and ready for anything life throws your way! Bath And Body Works has a great selection of bath products to fit your needs.

Work Your Hair Color
Confidence is not about changing your look, but feeling great about your true roots and being the best YOU that you can be. To give your natural hair color a shine boost, try John Frieda Luminous Color Glaze. They come in four shades; Brunettes, Blondes, Redheads and Clear (for all other hair colors).

Editor's Note: Stay tuned for Part II of Feel Good Beauty Tips this Saturday!

Back 2 School Hair!

One Month Before
A Great Haircut

To get a head start before the frenzy of back to school season, the perfect haircut will get rid of any split ends and give you a healthy, fresh look. This will help in cutting down how much time you otherwise might spend trying to mask those dead ends with countless hair products. Healthy hair is also more manageable, so it'll be easier and faster to style it in the morning!

One Week Before
Deep Condition

To undo the damage of the blistering summer heat and harsh pool chemicals, you'll need to repair your locks with a once-a-week deep conditioning treatment. Try Neutrogena Triple Moisture Deep Recovery Hair Mask, $8. I personally love making my own hair masks at home. This tutorial shows you how to make a simple conditioning mask with natural ingredients:

The Night Before
The Perfect Texture

If you want to alter your hair texture (from curly to straight, or vice versa) the best time to do so is right before bed. If you curl, straighten, crimp or wave your hair the night before, the only thing left to do the next morning is touch-up and style.

The Morning Of
Touch Up & Accessorize

Touch up any imperfections from sleeping on your locks, or better yet, try a messy, tousled bed-head look. Simply spray on a texturizing spray like Garnier Fructis Style Surf Hair Texturizing Spray, $6. It's a stylish and low-maintenance do that'll make you look like you just walked off the beach and into the classroom.

Also, adding a couple of cute hair pins or an awesome headband will instantly give you a gorgeous look without the effort and hassle. Check out my tutorial on how to make your own feather headbands!

In-between Classes
Maintain Your Look

Pack a couple of reinforcements in your bag, like extra bobby pins or clips. That way, you can maintain your look during bathroom breaks. Most hair products also come in these cute travel sizes, so you can even toss one in your purse for times when you'll need to touch up your hair the most, like right after Phys-Ed. Can't find your favorite styling products in mini sizes? Make your own! You can get travel size bottles and add any of your hair essentials for instant on the go beauty.
